Hello everyone! Wow, I feel like the last month has been one giant meeting!
I always thought that in order to make positive physical, mental and musical changes, one needed mostly great humility. But as my role is changing from auditioner to panelist, employee to overseer, pupil to performer and student to business owner, I see it is COURAGE that is so crucial to positive change; courage to actually LET change happen, courage to follow through with it, and courage to see room for growth.

There is definitely a lot of courage going on in today’s music industry, I’m seeing. Bands like The Chap, who are about to release their fourth album, claim their music is the “arsenal of powerful pop tunes,” and The Republic Tigers, who are described as being somewhere “between Enya, Bright Eyes, and Air,” are both examples of courage in the industry as they pride in defying trends. (http://www.lostateminor.com/2010/05/04/the-chap-2/) I am not claiming an opinion as to whether or not their music actually does so, but I think bands like this can be inspiring to all of us who feel our work doesn’t slip seamlessly into a well-established mold or trend.
What do you think about the way the music industry is evolving?
Wishing you all a happy and courageous week!
